I know that it is getting to be short notice but if anyone has time I would really appreciate some feedback on my query.
Thank you!
Drea was an isolated country, known only for being unknown. So no one in Baile was prepared when they attacked. Nineteen-year-old Celia certainly wasn’t. But by the time the smoke clears and the sounds of battle die out, life as she knows it is over. Her friends and family are dead, her future fading in the distance as she travels halfway across the country on a train full of prisoners of war.
When they finally arrive at their destination, it is clear, even from a distance, that the camp is no place Celia wants to be. With its double layer of fencing and blinding floodlights, it stands as a desolate island in a sea of grass.
‘Lucky’ to be assigned to a relatively safe job in the hospital, Celia has a front row seat to the horror show that makes up life in camp. She spends her days patching up victims of the guards’ cruelty and violence. Surrounded by despair, her anger grows daily but when she learns that she is destined for the breeding houses of Drea, she knows that she has to get away. However, she remains convinced that it is only a matter of time until the remnants of Baile regroup and overthrow their captors, liberating the camp. It takes a tragedy in her inner circle to make Celia realize that, if she wants to escape, she must make it happen. And that means putting her trust in a traitor.
The Camp is a YA sci-fi novel complete at 102,800 words. Thank you for your consideration.
