I'm on the fence about which of my two stories I should enter. Here's the first one.
New
After a party meant to lighten her mood goes horribly wrong, seventeen-year-old Zoe gets lost in the surrounding woods, spraining her ankle. Exhausted, she stumbles across an isolated mansion and Isabella—a cloaked girl who’s had no human contact in years. Isabella tends to Zoe’s injured ankle, but she draws the line at escorting her back to civilization.
Zoe’s curious about what’s beneath her rescuer’s hood, but isn’t prepared for horns, fangs, fur, and pitch black eyes. But Isabella’s kindness outweighs her beastly exterior, and they grow closer. Even after Zoe heals enough and finds her home days later, she’s drawn back to the woods. Isabella was cursed by what she thought was the town’s urban legend. Turns out, it real, and it’s been abducting children for over a century. Isabella longs to be cured and returned to her family. Zoe, falling in love with this gentle beast, vows to do whatever she can to help.
With each visit to Isabella, though, Zoe’s relationships with her family and friends suffer. As Zoe comes closer to unraveling the truth behind Isabella's cure, she realizes the creature that kidnapped Isabella isn’t finished with her. Unless Zoe and Isabella can defeat this malevolent entity, this beauty will be cursed along with her beast.

Dear Agent,
After being dragged to a party, all seventeen-year-old Zoe wants is some fun to lighten her mood from a rough day at school. It starts off well, until she catches a classmate’s attention. When she’s not interested in hooking up, he turns aggressive. Escaping a close call, Zoe runs into the woods surrounding them. Exhausted, she stumbles across an isolated mansion and Isabella—a cloaked girl who’s had no human contact in years. Although Isabella tends to Zoe’s injured ankle, she draws the line at escorting her back to civilization.

BENEATH THE MADDENING MOON is a 69,000 word young adult contemporary fantasy retelling of Beauty and the Beast that will appeal to fans of Holly Black’s THE DARKEST PART OF THE FOREST. Thank you for your time and consideration.
