Thanks to anyone who provides feedback!!
I’m writing to pitch you my manuscript, THE SIREN AND THE DEVIL’S QUEEN. The Siren and the Devil’s Queen is a completed Urban Fantasy Novel of 80,000 words.
Amberlee is the forgotten, fourth Siren of Greek myth who ran away to escape her family’s evil legacy. Impressed by her courage and morality, the gods offered her the chance to dive into the waters of time and arrive on a distant shore far into the future. She accepted their offer and arrived in modern day San Diego.
She is recruited to steal an ancient artifact from Brock Sindry, a reclusive collector who could use the artifact to inflict destruction on the world. The problem is, she doesn’t know which of five different items contained in Sindry’s museum is the real threat, and which are simply cheap hoaxes. Sindry is hosting a Pentagruhl tournament, the supernatural world’s equivalent to high stakes poker, which would provide the perfect opportunity to see the artifacts up close.
For a complex, intricate operation like this, she needs a highly skilled, fearless crew of supernatural daredevils.
She doesn’t know any.
Instead she relies on her roommate, Humphrey the Boggart, and his Pentagruhl buddies. They may be Creatures of the Night, but the only thing scary about them is the way they consume junk food and leave Amberlee’s apartment a mess. Now she needs them to rise to the occasion and help her uncover the truth about Sindry and his collection. They enter the tournament, which Sindry is hosting aboard his luxury cruise ship, the Devil’s Queen. Sindry proves himself to be much more than a mere mortal; he is a fallen Norse god with an undead Viking bodyguard at his side. Amberlee will need every Siren trick she knows to steal the right artifact without becoming the next item on display.
I teach Honors English at Mountain Ridge High School in Glendale, Arizona, so I am well-versed in the interests and tendencies of avid readers. I have also taught Greek mythology, the Odyssey, and the epic hero pattern to Honors students, which gives me insight into the stories which form the foundation of this novel. If given the opportunity, I would love to make The Siren and the Devil’s Queen the first of a series which I have outlined. I would love to send you the complete manuscript.
