Looking for some critique for my query letter.
Thanks in advance! Here it is:
Perhaps some souls are forged by the gods in a celestial foundry using alloys of metal, rather than being cut out of cloth after the loom...?
Ambitious nineteen-year-old Malicite Revlis is a formidable warrior in the Angliean Army, and has an innate affinity to silver through his bloodline. Malicite is appointed as the steward of a soul-extracting sword called, ‘Ragnarok,’ and is guided and kept in check by his secretly-telepathic adoptive father, Byn. He knows Byn has much confidence in his ability to protect the Ragnarok, but what he doesn't know, is that the Ragnarok contains the soul of a powerful Fallen Angel inside.
But when the Fallen Angel escapes the Ragnarok, and reunites with its body, it beguiles the forces of Angliea’s rival nation, and prepares to invade Angliea on a crusade to retrieve the Ragnarok for himself. In the meantime, a dormant power awakens inside of Malicite—a unique shapeshifting ability Malicite’s ancestors called ‘Quicksilver.’
Afterwards, Byn's secret, telepathic ability is brought to light, when he warns Malicite and the Queen of the Fallen Angel’s incoming advance!
Upon arrival, it threatens to destroy the kingdom, and beckons Malicite into battle. With so much at stake, Malicite feels compelled to use the Quicksilver power—even though he hasn't mastered the ability, yet...and using it incorrectly could kill him. Determined to protect everything he loves, will Malicite’s diligence be enough defeat the seraphic menace?
SILVERFORGED: CRUCIBLE is a new adult heroic-fantasy novel. It will appeal to fans of M.D. Ireman’s The Axe and the Throne, Brandon Sanderson’s Warbreaker, and the video game franchise Final Fantasy. I would compare my writing style to that of (dare I say) author, Dan Brown.
SILVERFORGED: CRUCIBLE is complete at 103,000 words, and is the first book in a series of three.
