Dear Super Agent,
When visions of torture lead Maeve O’Neill to the scene of a murder, instead of answers, she gets memories. From a dead guy. Which makes the twenty-four-year-old streetwise loner afraid she's losing her mind. Because, let’s be honest, that’s just not normal. Especially when she realizes the memories come with another fun surprise—magic.
Thanks to the dead man’s parting gifts, Maeve is now the completely unprepared access point for all of Earth’s untapped magic. She becomes the target of two groups: the Aeternal Council, rulers of a magic realm, and their enemies, a rebel group called the Brotherhood. The Council wants to use Maeve’s magic to expand their reign into Earth. The ruthless Brotherhood is killing innocents for enough power to escape the Council’s oppression. Both sides need her magic to win, and neither gives a damn if she ends up dead.
Staying alive means striking a deal with the Council’s enforcer, Simeon Valeris. His motives are suspect, and his arrogance is frustrating as hell, but he has a long-shot plan to get rid of her unwanted magic. The catch? If the plan fails, she has to turn herself over to the Council. Out of options, Maeve leaves behind the streets of Boston for the political powder-keg that’s Simeon’s realm of Aeterna. If the Brotherhood catches up with her, or her antagonistic alliance with Simeon crumbles, Maeve’s magic and her life will be up for grabs. But hey, if they manage to get what they’re after, at least she won’t be around for the end of the world.
THE LOST SECT is a 100,000-word contemporary fantasy novel with series potential. This book features a strong female protagonist, contemporary urban settings alongside new worlds, and a romantic sub-plot.
